Homework is an important part of students' success in the 5th grade. While we do not give an extensive amount of homework, the homework we do give is very essential as it provides students with needed practice of the content and processes we've been learning about and studying in class. Homework is not always graded, however, we do go over homework in class therefore it is important for students to do their homework each night. If a student's work is not done, he/she cannot effectively self-assess his/her understanding of the material. Students are responsible for recording their homework in their agenda books and completing all assignments on time. We expect high quality, with regards to homework, which will always mean work that is neat, legible, has an appropriate heading, shows work for math, etc. Effort and creativity is truly valued in our classroom!
